Anyone ever replace an IS250c package tray (2nd Gen 2010)?
UPDATE: I REPLACED IT MYSELF WITH A USED TRAY FROM EBAY. $500, 4 bolts, and one cable was all that was required! EZPZ!
Just got back from the dealer after my center (package tray) motor went bad, resulting in the dreaded OP SUSPENDED error with the top staying open at varying degrees. The dealer got it shut so I want to replace the package tray in my 2010 Lexus IS250c with one from Ebay. Are all screws/ clips holding it in place accessible throught the back seat area without raising the top at all? How difficult/ time consuming is the job? Its 600 bucks vs $6800 so Im willing to jump in even though its my primary car and Im extremely paranoid about the top sticking open again. I noticed the motor is mounted to the tray with bent metal clips and the motor is impossible to find anyway, so I'll be replacing the entire unit. Anyone with experience/ pointers will be much appreciated. The invoice telling me the package tray motor is shot. I verified this at a 2nd Lexus dealer to make sure this is why the top wouldnt open (intermittently)

Reason: I did the job myself
Update: I purchased a used package tray on EBay for $500 and replacement took 4 hours, all is done through trunk, removing carpet trim, 4 bolts, and a power connector.
Sticky dash and door panels on 2012 IS250c, Lexus dealer referred me to corporate. They said take it back to dealer for pictures etc. we did. Corporate then called and said no coverage. They just wasted our time. What a joke. Heard there was a ‘silent recall’ some years ago??? Whatever that’s supposed to mean. It’s clearly a major defect. Anyone have any success suing Lexus of fixing the problem?
