Package tray link cables
Okay, I just bought this car and have discovered that both package tray link cables are broken.
Initially when I discovered that the package tray not lifting was what was stopping the top from going down all the way, I searched the boards and found most had motor issues.
My motor works just fine. But both cables are broken.
I have found replacement cables on ebay, but I am curious if these do break or if this is the result of a bigger issue. As far as I can tell, the transmissions spin freely while operating the tray manually.
Has anyone ever just had to replace the cables?

I don't have pics, but both cables were broken where they insert into the respective transmissions. About an inch of the interior metal cable was snapped off on each one. Had to fish them out of the transmissions.
The transmissions seam to spin freely and work fine when I operate the tray manually. And the motor still works.
New (used) ones should be here any day now.
I called the dealer, and they only sell them as an entire transmission unit. One for each side to the tune of $6,000 plus dollars each, lmoa.
Found a set of just the cables on ebay for $120.00.
Fingers crossed someone did break them doing something stupid and this is all it needs. Worst case the entire package tray assembly can be found on ebay for less than $500.

Okay, I got the new cables in and have replaced them.
The top will not go up and down, however, the package tray will not function 100 percent.
It seems the flap and the slide on the passenger side of the car are not being fully extended.
I uploaded a video to my google drive at the following link:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1On_...usp=drive_link
I am in the process of checking to see if there is any sync procedure, but the last time I had the Autel hooked up I do not recall seeing one.
It's hard to really describe exactly what is happening, but I tried to get a clear shot in the video.
Any thoughts?

Second update -
It appears that the flap on the driver side does not work at all. Seems as if the transmission on that side has broken. After some adjusting, by removing the cables and making sure both sides are in the exact same position, I can get it to operate evenly now.
But the flap still will not move in and out. It is stuck folded in,
This is not a deal breaker for me at this time, so can I run it as is for now, until the tray assembly gets here? And is it in fact the tray assembly that needs to be replaced?

see if watching this video helps you get a better understanding of the package tray
Most likely the plastic arm the moves the "wings" are broken on the one side. You can try gluing it back, but a replacement of the entire system is an option also.
See if the video helps you pinpoint the fail point and we can go from there.
