I took my car out for the first time since Friday night and the CEL went away on its own. I have an appointment to drop my car off on Saturday though. This is so weird.

That can happen with gaskets/sensors. Sometimes assemblies settle after sitting for a bit, and under load and heat, it may form a gap and that's when you'll throw a code.

New feature- self-healing. Joking aside, hope you're still having the car checked. Did Vehicle Alert History in the head unit clear or is it still there? I never had CEL or anything, but I checked my car's Vehicle Alert History and it's completely blank. I guess dealer tech cleared it on PDI.

Yes the code and events are stored.. From what I recall your dealership already documented all this and ordered your replacement parts..
Maybe you can ask them if they have received anymore official words from Lexus corp on the ongoing problems..

Spoke to them today. No official word really. They're going to change the gaskets but I was told they ordered a new exhaust pipe too. Guidance from engineers is just to do the gaskets though.
Update on my CEL: the master technician found "unmetered airflow past one of the sensors, causing the the CELs to be thrown." Gaskets will be here tomorrow and they will test again.

I received a text from the dealer stating they had to order a gasket but didn't go any further in depth. I also notice that they put in 10 miles on the car from when I initially brought it in and went through almost a quarter tank of gas.

Uhh seems suspicious.. mine had 0 miles added, although the car has only been at the dealer for a day.

I've brought the car to the dealer on Saturday morning. I notice this Tuesday morning they went over 65 mph, went through almost a quarter tank and added 10 miles on top of the 36 miles.
The tech needs to drive it after the repair to make sure the code is cleared, but not necessarily before. My tech took three 5-7 mile trips after he fixed mine to make sure the code was clear, the last time on the freeway too. I was completely fine with that. They refilled the gas before I took the car back.

wtf, they would have to be gunning it the whole time and even then i cant understand how they used that much gas in 10 miles. I guess its possible.
