Default Headers

Does anyone have any knowledge / videos with PPE equal length headers vs PPE unequal length headers?
I am currently running an invidia catback exhaust and would love to see if there are any videos or ideas on how this would sound.
Thank you!

I had both on my ISF and have EL on my LC. The UEL caused much in cabin drone, while the EL drone, while still apparent, is much less obtrusive. The drone appears just above 2K RPM. I have no drone in my LC.

As far as exterior sound is concerned, the UEL has a V8 hot rod sound, while the EL has a smoother sound. I had PPE dual-mode exhaust on the iSF and also have the dual mode on my LC.

Yes we're a PPE dealer and have done EL vs UEL for many years now.

Simply put, EL more expensive, sounds more exotic / high pitched, more power on top end vs UEL.
UEL, cheaper, sounds more American / deeper.

With catless headers of any type, am I looking at a CEL? And is there a way to mitigate it?

Speaking of cats, does anyone have recommendations as to opt in for cats or not?

No need to run it, PPE has a solution for it.

If you want cats, you have to get the UEL, they don't come in catted EL.

Send us a text, we can help you out. We have EL in stock now.

Without a tune, I think you will need to try spacers or other tricks to get rid of the CEL.

Based on what I saw online, all the catted headers are UEL. It seems that all the EL headers are cattless (with the exception of Novel who put additional cat in their mid pipe). My friend runs his BMW supra without cat. It is loud and has a strong gasoline smell. If you are fine with loud exhaust (some drone) and smell, you will probably enjoy the cattless option.

There is another option if you want to run cats. You can run separate cats after the headers. Therefore, either UEL or EL. I run GESI cats installed in the PPE valved mid-pipe. Stay away from Magna-flow they are crap,

I have a shop that I use by the Hard Rock Casino if you are in South East Florida. They have done a good amount of mods and repairs on various cars that I've owned. They have done most everything on my IS F including my Borla Cat back and LSD. I think they did the long tube headers on my Firebird, but I'm not 100% sure.

Yeah the cats in midpipe is another option but the car already has cats there so you would change it for hi flow cats.

Thinking about buying the el ceramic ones for the is500. Only issue I’m having is finding a reputable shop in Georgia to install them. The quotes I’m getting are 1500-2000 which seem a little high. Anyone know of a shop in Georgia that can install these?

I have some RCF customers near Alpharetta. We have the headers in stock too.

Install should be like $1.2k max.
