2024 is 500
I like the fact that IS has 3.5mm AUX port still intact. I love my high quality audio files, FLAC 24Bit files, I have my LG phone with ESS Sabre DAC chipset and a good ol iPod with SD card mod. I can simply use them for that purpose, I still forgot to test the ML Audio when I test drove the IS 500.. the wattage is damn impressive for the size, compact sport sedan with 1800W of Amplification power at disposal with insane 17 Speaker setup. Plus this car has Rear speakers too which 90% of the modern cars do not have.
I noticed Lexus removed the 3.5mm AUX jack too when they upgrade the newer Infotainment. Not sure about JP variants.

If they do nothing with the 2024 IS in terms of upgrading the infotainment, my guess is this will have the dubious honor of being one of the only remaining vehicles made by any car manufacturer that still has a cd player. I transferred all my cd's to digital at least a decade ago. I know that Lexus is conservative but this is just disappointing.
You do know CDs are already digital, right? Hell, I wish the IS500 had a cassette deck, like the SC300/400 did until the end. But I'm 52, and prone to nostalgia. I mainly use Amazon music HD over Android Auto, but I like being able to enjoy music off CD without involving my phone. I had dealing with the phone while driving, and really while not driving too.
I still use the CD player mainly on Progressive Rock albums and every new album I buy on the first play. Why do I do that you ask? Many prog rock albums when they go from track to track have no gaps and on the CD they play smoothly. (Think Pink Floyd, Neal Morse Band, Dream Theater, etc.) On MP3/WMA/AAC/FLAC/ALAC/WAV etc. played from a usb stick or a disc they will have brief gaps which for me are painfully obvious. I have yet to run into a factory stereo from any brand that does gapless playback. The only way to get gapless playback with lossless audio is to play a CD. Now Android Auto and I would assume Apple Carplay do gapless playback, but I don't always use my android auto.

The other way, which you haven't mentioned, is to "Join CD Tracks" when ripping (a setting found under "Advanced" in Apple OS; I'm unfamiliar with Windows/PC), which will result in one giant MP3 file of the entire album. For the Windows world, there are several freeware/online options for joining tracks into one mega-MP3, with MakeItOne being one such option. Then, with the various multiple MP3s joined as one, your Prog Rock could... um... progress as it was meant to, even from a USB stick.
So there's actually two ways that would work for you, one of which you've already mentioned, gapless playback. That's an on-the-fly software solution that simply passes over the gaps of multiple MP3s during playback (as you already know).

You're better off seeing if the TRD exhaust from a V6 TRD Camry or Avalon fits, as it's more for that shared platform (Camry/Avalon/ES all similar):

That's not really going to do much of anything, even if the already quiet & muffled OEM resonators did fit, as it's a massively different platform, engine, exhaust and layout. The IS500 has a quiet exhaust anyway, it's moreso the V8 itself roaring beyond it. All you'd do is likely add weird drone to a V6, even if a resonater would fit.

Atleast in the RC they’ve fit the RCF exhaust on the RC350 and at least in the video it doesn’t sound bad or drones or anything like that. There’s a couple YouTube videos out there
