I have a black IS and I’ve been thinking of getting TRD style front splitters but I didn’t want to drill into the bumper to install them, so came across CF mirror caps (not the actual replacement side mirrors). Does anyone have any opinion on the eBay CF mirror caps like in this link?
I have heard of fitment issues or the quality looks cheap, but curious if that’s actually true. On eBay, there are a ton of these from China that’s priced low but each have similar images so I assume they’re all questionable quality.
If the link above is legit and for those of you that have these, how have they been holding up? Any issues with the elements, car washes, gaps, or the tape losing its adhesiveness over time?

I tried both actual mirror cap replacements and the mirror cap covers, both don't fit well. If you have a black or grey color IS, you can get away with the caps. it versus the white I have, it'll show a sliver of white which I don't like. Issue I had with the actual replacement was there was a significant gap where the puddle light is which led me to believe there could be a possible entry for liquid or water messing with the electronics

Thanks man. Yeah I was debating about the replacements vs the caps but I think I’ll stick with the caps. I heard about the cap and still being able to see some of your cars paint for light colored cars. For my car though since it’s black, I’m hoping that it’d look good since the base of my mirrors are already black and even if it’s not a 100% true fit, you can’t see a contrast.
Are they actually real carbon fiber and does the CF pattern look good?
Looking at this one from eBay; seller from CA and seems to have good reviews. Hard to tell what I’m getting bc all other listings look exactly the same with literally the same images. Thoughts?

Yeah, those are real carbon fiber ones. In the description it mentions it's made of 'real 3k dry vacuumed carbon fiber material'. Most of the stuff on eBay is real, all this stuff is coming from China and being resold at ridiculous re-sale. The carbon fiber is real so the pattern is excellent, you won't be disappointed with that.
If your car is black, you will 100% get away with it.
They came in the mail over the weekend and looked really nice. Came with very thin clear 3M tape.
Driver side fitment slightly off but passenger side perfect. I had to use a little thicker gray 3M tape I had around to address some gaps on the driver’s side mirror. Regarding what others have said about these mirror caps showing the car’s body color (esp. when you have a lighter color car), it seems the version I got extends a little further to the edge of the plastic trim of the mirror so it’d fully cover the paint.
Haven’t driven my car with these caps on the highway yet, but hopefully no issues. A small concern I have is when water gets underneath the caps whether bc of rain or car washes and if the tape still holds over time.
