Default 2021/2022 Lexus IS Trunk Emblem overlay?

Welcome,

I recently purchased HERE overlay for the front Lexus emblem (I’m trying to chrome delete all possible parts of exterior) but I have problem finding this kind of overlay for trunk/rear emblem. I only found black replacement for models 2020 and below but 2021/2022 have different kind of emblem (same like front just smaller size).

I was thinking maybe size is the same like in different Lexus model so I can try search for that then? Would be perfect if I can find the same color/style like front (gloss black ‘L’ letter and matte black background).

anyone having some ideas? Thanks in advance!

Reach out to this vendor and see if they're doing anything:

I went down this road as well when I got my Gen3 IS. I hated the chrome. Couple of things that I did. Firstly, I bought Vivvid's light smoke headlight tint, popped the emblem out of the grille and wrapped it. A few weeks later, I put another layer on top of it. Idealy, this was the move. It looked great! Could still see the emblem yet, it wasn't all up in your face. Second, I bought one of these https://wraparmor.com/product/lexus-...mblem-overlay/ , I opted for the L logo in the same color of my car. It looked ok, but I liked the headlight tint look better so I removed this decal. Side note - It took for-ev-er to get my overlay from Wrap Armor. After another few months, I was able to get a black pearl grille and trunk set off ebay, they were extremely difficult to find at the time. Black peal is the way to go in my opinion. I do like the style of the overlay you posted. Really like the CF and Red options and I'm not a carbon fiber guy.....unless it's real.

Couple of other small things that I have done that really set my car off, that most don't notice - The same headlight tint I used on my grille emblem, I used on my wheel centers also. Light smoke, two layers. I also used this same film on my sideview mirror turn indicators. It really took that chrome down a few notches. I also used the same film on my headlights and DRL's to keep everything uniform. Pro tip - Light smoke is too light, Dark smoke is too dark, but two layers of light smoke is lighter than dark smoke

My opinion, overall from someone who went all up and down the chrome delete path, black pearl emblems are the way to go if you can find them for your car. The overlay just looks like a sticker in the middle of your Lexus grille. The tint looks acceptable. As for your query for the rear emblem, I found these. https://www.ebay.com/itm/17498797765...hoC0_wQAvD_BwE

Wow thank you for your post! It helped a lot I put the overlay for the front emblem today:

It doesn’t look bad in my opinion, I wish I had the same for rear emblem thought. The link you posted with smoke tint is great but probably would have to put both front and rear to look good. I will look for pearl emblems tho, never seen these, do you have some links by any chance?

@ISinTN I found these: http://www.nyc-autoparts.com/product...2018-2019.html

Just I’m worried about fitment since it says they only fit 2014-2019, and mine is 2022. Looks like front emblem would fit but what about rear one? It’s different style than OEM but I like it thought as long as it fits and it would cover any holes after original emblem.

I imagine that as long as the emblem is the same diameter, it should work. The other issue you may run into is the alignment prongs that protrude from the back of the emblem, the holes may not align. I wish I had more info on the new model specs to throw out a viable option. A person could order the set you found to see, and if not return them?

That’s what I’m worried as well, I sent message to the guys from nyc-auto-parts but still waiting for an answer.

In the meantime i found this:

So I’m guessing all 2013-2021 (and 2022 since it’s same body like 2021) have the same diameters and fitment for trunk emblem?
I also searched for front emblem since I want to get it in Black as well - also looks like they share same one.

Interesting. That's pretty cheap! I paid more for my black pearl emblems. With the fitment being the same, and I'm no pro at this, I would imagine the black pearl emblems would fit just fine; aside from alignment holes/slots if those are different as well. Also makes me curious about the grille emblem slot fitment. I'm sure double-sided mounting tape would be fine to hold, but it always makes me feel better to use the right parts.

Oh wait, I just notices the tab at the bottom of the emblem. Now I'm even more curious. There is a local guy here, who just bought a 2022 IS 350; we run into each other several times a week as we eat at the same restaurants. Next time I see him, I'll check out the rear emblem on his. We've walked around each other's cars several times, but I haven't paid any attention to his rear emblem.
