for those w/ the fitcamx, does your camera come on automatically? i have to go into my app every time i start my car for it to come on. is there a step i missed to get this thing to come on during initial engine start/power up? thanks in advance.
Thats really weird. Mine always turned on automatically and starts recording automatically. You can tell because it blinks blue. You really don’t need the app at all except to download video.
I see there are pretty slick dash cams for 2017+. Anyone know of a similar to oem style for the earlier 3IS? Would really like the wired to mirror clean look.
Wasn't sure how good FITCAMX would be until this thread came up, so maybe I'll get it once the Viofo gives up on me. But I recently got the A119 V3 for my 2021 IS since it seems to be the best overall budget pick. Since it doesn't blend in as well as the FITCAMX and I didn't want the dash cam's adhesive to stick directly to the window, I stuck a sticker shield before sticking on the camera (You can somewhat see it on the dot matrix where it's darker on the upper half).
This is my first time ever having a dash cam for a car, so should it be fine that I feed the cables behind the car's trim moulding? Never noticed how well the lines in the interior and doors match up, and I don't want this cable to ruin any "seal" the door has when closed.
