@TipsyTonio can you provide some photos of your new dash-camera installed? I take it you went with the Front: 4K (2160P) 64GB?

Yeha I only went with the front. When I ordered it only the front was available. Now I’m curious what the rear looks like, but I’m 99% sure it wouldn’t work for me anyways since I have the power rear sunshade and at least on the ES forums, they’ve been unsuccessful in getting the rear cam not to bump into the sunshade. So bear that in mind when ordering. I also ditched the stock “Sandisk” 64gb card that came with it. Given it’s Chinese origin I highly doubt it’s an authentic sandisk. So I ordered a high endurance 64gb sandisk card from bestbuy. The reason I didn’t go full 128 is that Fitcamx claims that using 128 would force you to do certain things on the computer instead of the app. Also, on the ES forums people complain about a flashing blue light at night. While the blue light is there, it is not in your face nor noticeable. I drive a lot at night and it hasn’t bothered me yet. Downloading from the app is the only thing that has been hit or miss. Even with airplane mode I still get failed downloads. But if it fails, I just try again and then it works fine. I’ve found that it tends to not fail if you let it load all the thumbnails before trying to download a video.
Update: I just checked the rear cam model. Bear in mind that if you get the rear camera, the front camera will be limited at 2K. So that’s some food for thought. Also, I think the rear camera does not look very OEM unlike the front one. But that’s subjective

This is very tempting... I've been wanting a dash cam but not a fan of having to run random wires in my car so this one would be great. How long have you had the unit? And absolutely no issues with the standard lexus safety features?

I installed the unit about 3 weeks ago. No issues besides the intermittent failure downloading videos, which is just the app being glitchy. And the Lexus safety system was my concern as well. But luckily I have had no issues. The systems that rely on the pre collision camera (lane keep assist, pre collision, and automatic high beam) all work normal for me.
Just figured I'd come back and update everyone. I got the Fitcamx for a 2022 Lexus IS and truthfully it couldn't be any better. The installation was really simple and took probably 5-10 minutes. One thing to note, on other models you have to reinstall the factory top cover portion, but for some reason on the IS they include specific to the new housing. The housing in general is probably 1cm longer than the oem one, so it sticks out ever so slightly from the black marking on the windshield. Definitely not enough to be noticeable or an issue. The video quality is pretty good, though I will say I am skeptical of the whole 4k functionality, and that appears to have been disproved in other threads. Audio recording needs to be turned on in the app, but its definitely not top tier audio. Personally I don't mind it since my focus isn't to record audio, but rather video. Despite the 4k concern, I'd say the quality of the camera is great and it is also great in the night time. The only issue I experienced with it was with downloading videos on the app, but one suggestion I found on reddit, and later in the user manual as well, was to disable cellular data on your phone or go into airplane mode, and then connect to the camera. After doing that, downloading videos no longer failed.
TipsyTonio, I will soon take delivery of my 2022 ES350. The Dealership is to install the FitcamX aka Lexus Dashcam. My understanding is you installed the same dashcam. Has your installation kit you received, permit you to enable the "Parking Monitor" without tapping into the fuse box ? Are you still very happy with the dash cam or would you buy another brand ?
Those who installled the FitcamX. I would appreciate your feedback on the product and your installation experience.

Thanks for reading.
Congrats on your purchase man. I did not get the optional fuse tap wire as that would just complicate the install more and I had concerns of a battery drain; which theoretically there shouldn't be any if the voltage regulator works as designed on the fuse tap. I am fully satisfied with the camera. I truthfully can't complain. My parents are getting a 2022 Toyota Highlander Platinum soon and we already have it in our amazon cart in order to add it to that car too. Do note though, I did not get the optional model with the rear camera so I can't vouch for the rear camera if you get it. I see you are in Canada though so you should know something. The Lexus Dashcam is not the FitCamX. In Canana and Japan, Lexus sells gem dash cams but none of the ones I've seen integrate as cleanly as the FItcamX. Please do make sure that you are getting the camera that you actually want

WOW!! Thanks for the VERY FAST reply. YES!! I live in Ontario in the city of Ottawa. I had NO IDEA that Canada has a different dashcam. It does not make any sense. Do any Canucks on this Forum know who is the supplier / manufacture? Thanks for the heads up Tipsy Tonio, looks like I have some research to do and a few phone calls to make .
Thanks for your reply I am trying to detemine if your Lexux dash cam supplier is a FitcamX or another brand name used in Canada.
Is there a Canuck who can confirm the make of the Lexus cam they own. HINT Check the instruction book
I think that looks pretty slick but would probably interere with a mirror stem mounted radar detector. I almost returned my blackvue and ordered this and then realized it's right in front of the radar antenna. After installing the blend mount radar mount and mirror tap I can't go back to any other method haha. To the fuse box for me for the dash cam.
I wanted a dash cam in my old RX, but I returned it after I understood that if you want the parking monitor to work (camera taking a minute video when sensing the car was touched) you need to wire the camera to the fuse box. I didn't want to start removing the ceiling panels inside the car and doing damage or having wires sticking around the windshield. I mean, if you drive a Lexus let it feel like a Lexus and not like some delivery truck. So I just had a dash cam installed in my new RX 2022 by the dealer. Amazing job. No wires visible, professional installation and the camera is so small near the mirror, you have to look for it to see it. Works great. Records everything with sound or without (your choice). It's coming with an 8GB microHDHC card that records for about 3 hours.
Bonjour DansMtl! Did the Dealer install the Genuine Lexus cam? Can you please confirm that your dash cam is manufactured by FitCamX/, it seems to be the dashcam of choice for Lexus. It was mentioned on this site that Canada has a different manufacture, possibly ThinkWare.
Merçi beaucoup!

Thanks zman21, installing a radar is not on my bucket list, besides they are not welcomed in Canada. ThinkWare supplies dash cams for Toyota in Canada, I wonder if ThinkWare also supplies dash cams Lexus. I am going to connect to the use box as well.
