I recently installed it and it seems to work great so far. No issues whatsoever connecting to the app and seeing the footage too. @TipsyTonio Thanks for the review and answering all my questions also.

for those that installed the fitcamx, does your cam mount panel sit flush with the windshield? I tried aligning and realigning the panel and i still have a small gap. i see the alignment arms inside the panel and i see the rail that they're supposed to slide into but can't tell if they're lined up when installing. install looks clean, but still a gap. please advise.

Can you provide a photo? In my case, and in the case of another IS I’ve seen it on, the housing itself sticks past about 1cm from the black outline of the windshield. Not at all perceptible from outside and barely noticeable inside. I’m not sure if that’s the “gap” you’re referring to?

i'll have to take a pic when it's not a billion degrees outside! haha. but the gap i'm referring to is the camera mount panel, closest to the camera, not sitting flush onto the windshield; plastic to glass. the panel itself is within the black outline.

in other words, if you were to run your finger from the top part of the small panel down the side to towards the camera, everything is flush until about 3/4 down and there is a gap and the plastic panel is no longer seated on the glass. hope this explanation helps.

Oh no. I definitely don’t have a gap between the housing and the glass. It’s flush all around in my case and I was one of the first adopters of it

Hi Albert,
Just to clarify, you have a '23 IS350 & bought this cam on Amazon even tho the site indicates that it's not yet compatible with the '23MY?
Did you get both front & rear or just front? Did you self install?

Thanks,

b62

Hey man, how much of a gap do you have? You question made me look at mine in detail last night and there is a very small gap. Not enough to be perceptible but it is there.

a small couple of cm gap

kind of difficult to see due to its reflection but it’s there. I’m thinking about wiring it up for park mode.

Oh no. That’s definitely much larger than mine. Hopefully reseating it fixes the problem

mine also has a tiny gap in that area but it's not noticeable unless you're up close to examine it. The slots on the fitcamx panel are slightly higher than the oem one which is why it isn't as flush. As long it doesn't move vertically the small gap isn't an issue. I actually got it on extremely flush once but quickly realized I had pushed it above the actual slots which would surely break the plastic over time. If you examine the slot position on the oem vs fitcamx cover you'll see they are 1-2mm off.

hey there I bought it directly from the fitcamx website after confirming fitment with a rep. The website also states 2023 on the model. The one Amazon is probably the same thing without the updated compatibility info but I didn't want to risk it. I suggest ordering direct for peace of mind.

thanks for your input. fitcamx cs confirmed that a gap is normal on the install, but i'll take that w/ a grain of salt...like a CYA on their part. i didn't compare the guide slots to the oem panel, but i believe you. i also had the panel more flush on initial install, but pulled back off to see if there were any issues and like you, i bent one of the guide arms on the fitcamx panel. i bent it back into place and reseated several times and the gap is the same. with that being said, the panel is secure in it's current position. i just left it as is.

for those w/ the fitcamx, does your camera come on automatically? i have to go into my app every time i start my car for it to come on. is there a step i missed to get this thing to come on during initial engine start/power up? thanks in advance.
