They always seem to turn themselves off somehow is there any way I can permanently keep them on? Like still have the ability to shut them off but stop them from offing themselves.

Mine stay on until I turn auto off, perhaps it is a model year thing? I'm 2018 with F-Sport 2 package.

I don't have Auto wipers, but I would think this is the way they should work.
Consider Auto headlight setting on the stalk...once on Auto the lights will come on when needed (in the dark) or not...the Auto function never turns off.

Maybe the question should be to the OP, why do you think the Auto wipers are turning off arbitrarily?

My wipers do not turn off when I manually turn them on...whether on Intermittent, Low or High.
I don't have Auto Wipers, but if I understand the way it works is that you press the Auto button at the end of the stalk and the light on the stalk comes on indicating it's in Auto mode.
At that point based on vehicle speed, Rain sensor detecting water, etc. the wipers will activate when needed.

You say they turn themselves off...why do you think they are off? Because the Auto light is off? Or is there some other reason?
I think without us understanding the question, it may be hard to give you an accurate answer.

I have a 2014 also, but I don’t recall them turning off by themselves. Does this happen while in use? i.e. in a rainstorm?

like they are on with the green light and the screen tells me they are engaged, they work great but If I manually turn the wipers on they turn off auto or if I’m gone a week and return they are off. It’s such a weird issue.

I suspected this is what you were trying to describe. Maybe someone with Auto wipers can confirm that the system resets to the off position when you cycle the ignition.
I'm guessing that the Auto wiper button is like the Cruise control button, a momentary switch...meaning it doesn't have an off position or on position, it simply toggles the system when pressed. Which is different than the auto headlight switch which has fixed positions.

Check page 182 of the owners manual...if I recall correctly, they describe that they do shutoff when you manually operate the wiper stalk...but i think they will revert back to auto after a moment of non-operation...but check starting at page 182 to confirm.

I think you may be right which sucks. In my old car it just stayed on because the dial was always at auto but here it’s just a button easily reverted by software. Idk why Lexus implements a sick feature and then neutered it. I will confirm with the manual Tmrow and get back to y’all thanks for the help.

If you want the wipers on, then turn them on and not to Auto. Auto will only turn them on if there is moisture and is not a perfect system. I don't have it on
my Lexus, but I did on my MB CLA. It didn't work well with light drizzle all the time. If they work great while it's raining, then they are working. If you have to
turn them off and back to Auto, do that.

Ok, yes, I think they turn off when you turn off the car. I don’t find that bad. My other car has a fixed position on the stalk for auto, so it stays there permanently, but it’s kind of spooky when the wipers do a single wipe, out of the blue on a clear day, just because some dust got on the windshield.
