So I have been thinking very long and hard about getting an IS350 fsport. The 3rd generation has been growing on me which made me drop the 2nd generation. I'm leaning towards a 2016 is350 fsport atm. I just want to know the updates, growth and differences of the is350 2014-present. I cant find any comparison threads or forums for the 2014 - present years.
OP - Keep in mind that when you post here, you will get response from people in the US and different part of the world. Keep in mind that Canada has ONLY the AWD which means that you will not get the 8 speed transmission and some features available elsewhere may not be available here.
I would strongly encourage you to discuss with a person at the dealer that knows their product (I know that this is easier said than done as most people here know more than sales people)....The other option is see if you can contact Lexus Canada to give you previous brochures that would spell out the differences between the trims.
For the record, I had a 2015 IS350 F sport and a 2017 IS350 F Sport before getting my 2019 RC350 F sport so I can help you if you have specific questions....

Here's one -- the 10.3" screen. From my understanding, it first became available on the IS in 2017, but on which trim? Is it yet standard on every IS? Also for the RC -- I've even seen later model RC-Fs with the small screen, when one would figure it should have always have the bigger one once it became available.
The interior of the refresh 2017+ is different too to the untrained eye. The dash is different, steering wheel buttons, the trim around the sides of the center console is different, armrest is different, the vents are different as well as a new cover on the rear seats covering the rear child seat latches to name a few things.
^^ even the start button was slightly different on the 2017 versus the 2015.
Atomic AWD - I believe the wide screen became available on all trims of the 2017+. Having only had the F sport, I can't be 100% sure though. The 2019 RC350 has the wide screen too now and the software of the interface has changed a bit which is annoying because I can't browse the various folders when the car is motion. Everything is available so why is a folder browse is more dangerous!? I will say one thing, after having 2 back to back IS and now the RC, I much much much prefer the touch pad than the mouse on the IS which I would have thought to be the opposite.
No major changes for model years 2015 or 2018 in United States
2018 saw the IS getting the 2GR-FKS. I suppose that's not really a MAJOR major change, but it's a different engine code, and has a higher redline and different horsepower ratings.
