Default Extending sun visors

It really bugs me that the sun visors on our cars don't have the option of extending to the back of the windows when you have them rotated to block sun from the side. There is a significant gap between the end of the sun visor and the end of the window. That's where my head is in the car and that's where the sun usually hits me. Most cars these days have extending sun visors or at least a flap you can slide out to extend them. I was wondering if there is a fix for this...whether the new IS' have them (mine is a 2015), or there is a different Lexus model out there that has them and will fit in our cars. I'd rather not go with some tacky autozone add on piece lol. Thanks guys

RC or GS sun visors may work, have been looking into this myself as the non-extending sun visors are super lame. Haven't been able to find confirmation as no one else seems to have swapped them out.

I’m also in the same boat sun is always on my face during commute home, window tint helps me a bit otherwise it’s way too hot without sun visor extending. I know RC models have visor extension but wasn’t able to find a reasonable condition on eBay. New one cost $150.

I'm fairly confident that RC or GS visors will work, but the only way I can confirm is if the seller will allow return.

Running into the same issue with my RC center console swap project. Can't find a complete unit and the partials are missing essential parts I need.

I might be willing to pay $150 for a driver's side from the dealer just to see if it works, and if it doesn't try to sell on ebay for whatever I can. Or maybe they'd let me return it if I'm super nice about it.

Not sure if it’s helpful, but here are pictures of the visors in my GS.

Let me know if you want me to take any measurements or better pictures. Would be happy to do so for you.

I'm assuming those will activate the light when the mirror is opened? I'm thinking the mounting will be the same as in the IS and will share the same plug for the harness.

Can you get measurements for the following? If the distance from center of the mount to the center of the clip that holds the visor is the same, it would give us a pretty good idea if the swap will actually work, provided the width dimension of the visor itself is not too wide.

Just from the pictures it looks just like the one for IS even the color match. Wonder why Lexus didn’t put this in IS model?

No clue. It's not like they would have saved much on production cost including them.

Might need to compare the mounting point as well.

The Straight Pipes YouTube channel would be very disappointed 😂.

does anyone know how to take off the cap to tighten the screws? Is it just a matter of using a flat head to pop up the cap? or by the looks of it, it's just trying to "slide" it out of place to uncover the screws?

I couldn't find a direct video for a Lexus IS but i've seen some others and I just want to make sure I don't break anything. I need to tighten the screws on mine, i don't know mine are super loose.

Update for anyone that may need it...

The cover clip is removed just using a flat head screw driver. just pop up the edges and remove the clip to expose the philips screws to tighten the visor.

$125 on Lexuspartsnow.com 2018 GS350 not sure it’s extended like 2019 version assumed it should be. I took measurement from my car it’s 2014 IS350.

JDR76 could you verify if these numbers matched you sunvisor in GS? Driver side.
