So I’ve looked for a similar thread, but haven’t seem to be able to find anything. Forgive me if it’s not in the right directory I’m still learning this place.
My problem is my iPhone>USB has stopped working. It shows on the nav screen that the phone is connected and when it plays, it plays the music thru the actual phone, not the car. But it shows on the screen what’s playing, and the phone is also charging.

why not use Bluetooth audio streaming? You can charge your phone and play your music wirelessly through Bluetooth. If that doesn’t work, try switching through the inputs (so click radio than go back to media) and see if that works. When my phone doesn’t connect usually cycling through the inputs makes it work.
Check that your USB cord is genuine Apple or at least certified. Some cheap cords
will connect well enough to charge a device but not properly connect media. Obvious
stuff such as the phone volume is turned up at least 1/2? Proper choice of media on
the car, ie., USB not Aux? Try plugging a different phone to your cable. Have you
cycled your phone fully off and on lately? (Maybe the car doesn't like your music?)

I hate Bluetooth if I can use wired. No latency with wired. And sound quality is much better. I’ve pretty much tried everything imaginable. Even aux is better quality than bt but then you don’t get any control.

Haha my cars’ put up with my music so far hah
Yeah I only use apple because I’ve learned nothing works better than oem apple products. And yeah non apple cables stop working over time even if they’re in good shape. Weird. I don’t believe I’ve tried actually turning my phone off... I’ve tried everything but so far.. different cables in different ports, car and phone settings... I’ll give that a shot tonight. I can’t believe I never even thought about that. Usb is way better than aux because you get all the controls. With aux you have to use your phone. I like usb over bt because the sound quality is much better.
On your iPhone, you can change the audio output device. Make sure you set it to “LEXUS” or whatever your car is named and not your phone.
Yeah under whatever music app you’re using tap the little airplay button and see if it’s not set to your phone speakers and that you select (default it’s LEXUS) which would be your car speakers.

Not sure if this was solved, but I restarted my phone and that worked for me for some reason. I was having the exact same problem, suddenly my phone was playing audio even though it was connected to the car and the display showed that it was connected and the audio was showing on the display too.
