Wheel setup
Hey guys, I'm looking to get rims for my 2016 IS300.
What size tires do you guys recommend?
I was looking to run 20x10 rims and 255x35 tires. Is that an ok setup?

You can’t fit x10 up front.
I suggest:
19x9 +32 225/35
19x9.5 +40 255/30
20s I would do:
20x9 +32. 225/35
20x9.5 +40 255/30

Stick with 19's...20's is too big in terms of fitting a decent sidewall tire.
Recommend:
Front: 19x8.5 +35 - 235/35/19
Rear: 19x9.5 +40 - 265/30/19
You can vary the offset by +/-2
Tire size can go down to 225 and 255.

Yeah Sasnuke has the perfect sizes listed.
On another note, what are the most popular tire sizes for 18, 19, and 20 inch rims. I would be interested in learning. I think for 18 inch the most popular size is 225 40 18 right?

Stock F-Sport Wheel specs
18X8 +40 225/40/18
18X8.5 +50 255/35/18
19 inch upgrade with staggered fitment (to keep the exact same tire circumference as the stock 18 inch wheels - no offset as that is wheel manufacturer specific):
19X8.5 225/35/19
19X9.5 255/30/19
19 inch upgrade with staggered fitment - with plus size on tires:
19X8.5 235/35/19
19X9.5 265/30/19
19 inch upgrade with staggered fitment - with plus plus size on tires:
19X8.5 245/35/19
19X9.5 275/30/19
For 20's depends on width of the rim, but you're looking at 225/30, 235/30, or 245/30. Any bigger and you'll likely have rubbing everywhere.

Alright so 20x10 square set up definitely isn't a good idea right?

It's not any kind of idea...it just won't fit...on the front at least.
You could do a 20x10 on the rear with an offset around +45...depending on what the rim manufacturer offers.
The front would be a 8.5 or 9.
The front can't fit a 9.5 in any rim height, so a 10 is out for sure.

The key is the offset, which isn't included due to dependency on what the manufacturer offers.
Some have fixed offsets, and some say they will make the rim with whatever offset you want.
You can definitely fit 20's, but the width is the issue when going with a square setup.
Can't have wide on the rear and front. You'll be basically buying rims that fit the front when you go square.
You'll see by my signature I have 20's.

Ahh alright that makes sense. So I'm considering that setup you recommended but the rims I'm getting only has 19x8.5 and 19x10. Would the tire setup still fit?

In looking at the link you provided for the rims, the front looks good...19x8.5 +35.
The rear might be an issue if you're doing the 19x10, since the offset is only +40.
If it was a 19x.9.5 +40, then I would suggest the 255 tire for the rear and you should be good to go.
The 19x10 +40, even with the 265 tire, is likely gonna rub at stock height on big dips or with passengers. Lowered it's gonna rub.
