If you are looking for another option while using the factory remote (remotes), I highly recommend the dball remote start, if you'd like to look into it.
3 clicks of the lock button will start the car. 3 clicks of it while running will shut off the car, otherwise I believe it runs on a 5 minute timer (which may be programmable but I haven't tried to change this) where then it shuts off to conserve fuel.
I have it on the LS, IS and used to have it on my CT.

I live in vegas so our winters are cold and summers are hot... the remote start is a blessing.. it gets my car cold or warm before I get into it. and I have the timer for 15min. so regardless if it turns off or not when I enter I know the inside is what I need it to be

I don't want to have to use an app for it, and if I do, I expect the app to be more useful like Volvos. They have the ability to change the AC/Heat settings and even see the current cabin temperature. My annoyance is mostly from the limited functionality, slow, antiqued app. If that was fixed I wouldn't worry so much abut the engine turning off. Or if Lexus allowed us to use the key fob like most manufacturers instead of trying to milk a reoccurring service fee for it.

Ah well, at least the Enform stuff is free for 10 years now...

I don't know how it doesn't bother you, it makes remote start to me useless. While I understand the security intentions, the car stays locked when using remote start so if your car gets stolen by somebody breaking into it within the 10 minute timer that's just VERY BAD LUCK lol. I would prefer for it to stay on when I open the door because I don't want to start my vehicle twice within 10 minutes that's just me though. I refuse to use it because of the turning off part.

Agreed! I wish they would do what Chevy does where the car stays on when you open the door but you still need the key to “turn it on” officially and be able to put it in drive. But it doesn’t require shutting off the engine and turning it on
