Interesting. I did not know that.

Probably had another 5k on these front ones, too.

The EBC I installed are excellent, so far. Let's hope they stay that way.

hey guys. not sure if this is dumb or not but I am trying to figure out how to turn my 2017 RX off once parked but leave the radio on.
The moment I touch the start/stop the whole car shuts down.
I feel like this should be such a simple thing.

anyone?

Thanks!!

Not ideal, but you could shift to neutral (instead of park), shut off the car, then shift to park. This will leave the accessories on.

While some manufacturers have this feature, Toyota/Lexus do not.
The suggest to shift to neutral mentioned above is really the only workaround to achieve that.

At this point, it isn't much more of a stretch to just shut the car off as normal in Park, then press the start button one more time immediately after. It's probably safer too, as you know you're in Park.

I just got a new battery.

Overall, the car sits a lot due to pandemic.

I seemed to have left my trunk ajar for a couple
days, but it started fine.

Dumb questions:

Is there an auto shutoff after 20 min?

In general, the battery warning light indicates an alternator (charging) problem.
Why is there no gauge for the battery charge itself?
Can the dealer just check the battery charge on my next visit?

Is there an auto shutoff after 20 min? When you leave the vehicle in Accessory or Ignition On, then yes there is an Auto Shutoff...but outside of those scenarios no.

In general, the battery warning light indicates an alternator (charging) problem. Why is there no gauge for the battery charge itself? The light is meant to reflect a Charging system issue, which includes both the Battery and Alternator, although when you see the Battery light on, 9/10 times if an issue with the Alternator not charging the battery properly. Some cars have a gauge, just not a 3IS. I guess it's just one of those things that adds to the bottom line...sorta like no oil pressure gauge, just the light. The Engine ECU does monitor battery voltage, so you could always use something like a ScanGauge II to see live data parameters while driving.

Can the dealer just check the battery charge on my next visit? Yes...it's supposed to be done as part of a Maintenance inspection, however if you're not complaining of a starting or battery related issue, and especially when it's not winter, they may not necessarily check it.

I was driving today and i thought I heard brake squealing, so I got home and did an eye-ball check to see whether the brake pads needed replacing, took some photos. As far as i can see, there seems to be enough "meat" still on the pads? Can advise?

Those look great, but what about the other side of the rotor? In theory they should wear the same, but I’ve been surprised more than once by uneven wear.

Same here! I had an issue with this as well as water pooling in my floorboard and it turned out a mouse/mice got in my car and clogged up my drains from the sunroof as well as chewed a few wires of course. I would get it checked ASAP!

Will break out the jack and remove the front tires to check the pads to be safe, but will skip the rear wheels coz lazy...

Question another dumb & stupid question...

Hi, per the OP time for another dumb & stupid question...

IS350 FSport recommended cold PSI for tires is 36, but in Florida right now temperatures average 85 to 90, & tire pressure rises pretty fast to 50+.

Given all of the above, if going on a 3 hour highway road trip, before leaving, should cold PSI be reduced to 34, or other?

Tires are Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ all around. THX!!

Quick question, do you find the A/S loud? Mine sound like off road tires.
