200t Engine Starting Hesitation Issue
Sadly, my car never stops having issues. I guess buying a first year Lexus engine wasn't the best choice but anyhow. I usually leave for long trips during the weekends and my car sits for a couple of days(2-3). At the end of one of those trips i came to start my car and it hesitated to start , there was a crank and the engine fired up ,but once fired up it felt like it couldn't get going like it needed more power just to start idling normally. I thought okay maybe the battery is dying, so i went home and tested both the battery and alternator but both tested fine without any issues. I started to monitor the issue more closely and noticed that it only happened on cold starts and only the very first start. You could shut the car right off after the first start and it would start up like nothing throughout the day. I took it to my dealership (Cherry Hill Lexus NJ) and they informed me "that is normal for the car" "its the cars computer" "we can not do anything about the issue". So i decided to go to a dealership farther away but that i knew would actually care about my issues(Thompson Lexus Doylestown PA). They at first stated they could not duplicate the issue but then after having the car for a couple of days and speaking to Lexus technical they got the car to do the harsh startup. Its been 3 days now and they have started to take the engine apart and bore scope different components for further tests. I will keep you guys updated on the final result.
P.S - I recall seeing someone on her comment about an issue with the 200t engine as well. Kinda got me thinking there might be an issue but hey idk!

following. On a morning after car has been sitting a while mine seems to be sluggish as well. Will start..idle is about 750 then will rev up to normal. After that it starts fine every time, Just on a cold start it seems to not want to get going. Thought it was because of my system maybe draining but idk. Lexus has a lot of items that drain the battery after the car is off.
UPDATE - After a couple of days of running tests, the dealership stated it was the fuel injectors. They are going to change them out next week. Will keep post updated to see if it solves the issue.

UPDATE 2 - Replacing the fuel injectors did not resolve the issue. Took the car back and they looked at the car again with lexus technical. This time they changed a fuel pump and an inter cooler tube. I went to pick up the car and got a check engine light, turns out the 200ts have 2 fuel pumps, they changed the other pump(fixed check engine) and it also did not fix the main issue. I kinda gave up but after driving the car for about 2-3k miles, the issue stopped. I let the car sit for about 2 days to test and it fired up like normal. Now the weather is getting colder and the car is back to normal as well. Not 100 percent sure what resolved the issue if any of the parts or im thinking it could actually be something with the cars computer or I think something with the fuel. But any how its fixed and will update if issue returns!
