There are a few TRD Japan upgrades to further improve the rigidity of the chassis (which in turn will further enhance the suspension) but they are not cheap to acquire:

The door stabilizer has its purpose though I don't know how much of an improvement would it make on the Lexus IS.

In theory it should work by limiting or reducing the flex in the passenger compartment at a vulnerable area.

Found this youtube comment which may be helpful.

"How to test body flex when adding parts 1. With both doors OEM, lift a single corner of the car. Take note of the location of the stand on the frame rail, and its height. What should happen is that two tires are touching the ground, one tire should be high off the ground, and the other tire should be lower, but not touching the ground. 2. Measure the height of the lower tire. 3. Repeat 1 & 2 with the mod installed. If the chassis is stiffer, then the tire should be at a different height than it was on your first measurement. Probably higher. You may even find that you have 3 tires off the ground. The MR2 Spyder forum did this with a car and found a 1/2 inch of change between not using and using the stabilizers. Now, I feel this mod will work better with a 4 door. Which will be tried soon."

Seems like a significant difference. I guess it depends on the car. About $400AUD for 2 pairs. It'd be a expensive experiment.

The doors on the 3IS are very light and you need almost no power to close them. I imagine that this modification would change the needed force?
yes it takes more force to close the doors

MR2/MRS was not only a much older car, but has relatively poor body rigidity due to having an open top (no roof). So it wouldn't take much to reduce flex on such a convertible, assuming the above method even works to begin with.

there’s an Improvement, not exactly a bang for the buck add on but the stuff add rigidity to the doors.

I've notice at times I can see the drivers door flex while driving. Had me almost thinking something wasn't tighten. Want to order but need confirmation of the correct part.

It might slightly slow the extrication process down with hand tools but it will be no match for the powered ones.

you won't notice any, particularly on four doors. you can attach a go pro and see what you get.

just as an experiment once i put tape strips on all four doors then jacked up my IS on one corner lifting the wheel off the ground and the doors did not move at all.

How do you remove the plastic on the stock striker that is covering the screws?
