VShields

Ok first post so sorry if this has already been answered but I couldn't find any thread on this. I have this problem where this black panel that in under the window controls ALWAYS gets little nicks and scratches in it exposing the silver plastic underneath. I have no clue if this is a common thing or what but if it starts to look pretty bad I use a paint pen and touch it up. Seems sort of silly this paint(?) is that sensitive though and I was wondering if there is a proper way to fix these nicks or if this is not normal and see if Lexus can maybe fix this issue... I've attached a picture so you can see what panel I'm talking about. It's in a 2014 is250 fsport. This panel. I have no clue what it is called so here's me pointing at it :
