Default Creaky Door Panel Fix?

On my dirver's door panel, at the top rear, right where you want to rest your elbow........

The panel has some creaks and noises IF I try to rest my elbow there. It's quiet otherwise. I'm assuming theres some wear and tear inside form the PO doing the same thing.

Anyone had this issue and fixed it? If not I'll need to pull the panel and see what can be done. Maybe one or two thin layers of this packing foam inserted in the noisy area....

Seriously, unscrew everything short of pulling the panel and confirm the squeek is still there, then pull the panel and take a look... I would use either slicone grease or foam tape depending on the local and offender, then reassemble to where you confirmed the squeek was stil noticeable and then test your work before screwing all back together...

While your in there, grease the window sliding x-scissor lift with some GP grease. Also, make sure you observe the orientation of the foam crash protection insert on the door panel when you take it off (take a pic)... mine fell off and I had to do some head scratching before using a glue gun to reinstall for reassembly... maybe it already fell down and is causing your squeeking?

Good luck and report back with what it was and how you fixed it!

Not sure what it was. I took off all the door panels to re-foam speakers (not needed) and after I reinstalled the panel....no more creaking.

Either something was loose or I'm a better mechanic than I thought.

Wipe Shiniztu Grease on the weather stripping and you won't hear the creaking anymore. The weather stripping has dried out a little.

sometimes the wood strip along the door panel creaks when I rest my arm on it.

creaks are more prone to occur when it's cold. Well you notice them more when it's cold
