I wanted to see what everyones experiencing when closing their trunk. It takes a little more effort when closing the trunk of my 200t. Not sure if it's because I have the cargo net, but when I try closing the trunk from the handle inside I have to really swing it down to actually close right.

ok so its not just me than cause i have the same exact issue! lol
Yes, it takes a swing to close the trunk on 3IS because the hinges have some resistance somewhere during the swing of the trunk lid.
It is similar to the trunk in 2IS.
It is just a matter of getting used to the right amount of force at a correct speed/pace.
I HAVE noticed this in my wife's IS350! You need to apply a greater than expected amount of force to close the rear decklid - often enough to make the rear licence plate/frame rattle slightly! To avoid scratching the paint on the decklid itself, I too prefer using the inside handle to close.
I agree with AndyL about the resistance somewhere in the hinge swing. When the weather improves, I will investigate the source of the resistance from inside the trunk. I will proceed with extreme caution given that mishap during trunk investigation is the third leading cause of male spousal disappearance (behind only mishap during chest freezer investigation and mishap during folding couch investigation)!
I just ended up getting use to it. I passed by the dealer and checked out the other trunks and they seem to be all the same. You have to use some extra force when closing them.
