hey guys! do any of you know how to adjust the trunk so that it lifts and closes easier? cause at the moment its kinda hard to pull up the trunk. pushing it closed is not a big deal. its just when opening it'd be nice for it to require less energy. I really began to notice it today since I got an ES350 loaner car and opened its trunk. Its waaaaay smoother and easier to open. I think somethings just wrong with the trunk or something needs to me adjusted. any advice?

 

i think its normal, it takes alot of effort for me to open the trunk too, however just a small push and the trunk will fall down shut

 

just the way the trunk is designed in IS. Not sure why they didn't make it pop up when you open it...

 

buy some new trunk dampers. OEM trunk dampers on the IS are garbage.

 

I think it would be easier if it were lighter, but then you'd have to remove all the insulation.

 

get a CF trunk. mine opens itself now.
