In case you guys didn't know Beatsonic is making plug and play carplay device. It's coming for GS at least but they mentioned the version for IS will be available also.

But since the A/V input is composite video, the video resolution won't be anywhere near as good as your phone. And no support for Android Auto? I'll pass.

nope untrue.
They will not be using the A/V composite input to interface with the screen.
They will use LVDS connection type to interface the LCD screen in between Screen and the main radio module.

Quality will be same resolution that factory Navi and Radio would use for the GUI.

Not A/V. It will be pretty close to native Apple CarPlay functionality resolution and control wise, at least that's how it looks on demo video from CES. I'm just hoping it won't be too expensive.

I installed the Beatsonic Mirroring on my IS and had no problems what so ever.

Sorry I meant I got it installed, I did not install it. But the video shows the install and it looks fairly simple.

Cool, thanks...someone in Miami/Ft Lauderdale needs to do this so i can see it first hand. Don't want to be an early adopter.....This is great nonetheless...
