Default Taking the car in for service ( help )

Hey everyone,

Question.
I have a 2015 Is250 Awd F Sport and for some reason the trunk won't open, not with the remote or the button inside the car it will open only with the physical key. anyone ever have this problem? anyways i scheduled a service with lexus, my question is my car is lowered and on wheels. Will they give me any problems warranty wise? also should i trust them with the wheels on or do you think they would mess them up?

thanks

Sounds like there might be an electrical problem. did you check to make sure the wires going to the truck lock are all connected and not severed?

You should have a switch like this in your glove box to deactivate the trunk opener. Make sure it's set appropriately.

Open the glove compartment and click the button on the left side...

Sounds like maybe somebody clicked it in accident so the car disables the trunk to be open with the normal key... only with a physical key. This is meant to be for locking stuff in the trunk when giving the key remote to the Valet driver.

Makes me wonder what would happen if you took the car in for service. Would the dealer "replace the trunk ECM" or somesuch - just for the warranty $$$?

This sounds like a good way to find out if the dealer's service department is competent and trustworthy. If you go for it, let us know!
