Default Trunk - Locked Glove Box Switch - Using Remote

In my old car, i could lock out access to the trunk from the cabin, but still use my fob to remotely open my trunk.

With my is305, when i disable the trunk release button in the glovebox, the fob doesn't open the trunk anymore, goes with the valet feature.

I looked at the personalization settings, but nothing came up. Anybody have a work around for this?

Thanks.

I don't think so. I believe it's intended such that you can only unlock the trunk using the physical key when you use that feature.

No workaround. If you gave your fob to the valet thinking that the fob should override the lockout, they would be able to open the trunk with the fob. What's the point of having a lockout feature if you can still open the trunk with the fob?

The purpose of the valet trunk defeat button is to secure your stuff
when you are surrendering the key fob. Separate the mechanical
key from the fob, actuate the trunk defeat, lock the glove box (with
your plate registration inside) and give them the fob.
They can drive but not get any further.

The pre-keyless entry key came with a separate "valet key" for
the ignition that did not fit the trunk or glove box. Lock with it and
give the whole fob away.

Whats the logical explanation for wanting to do this? You realize you give the key fob to valet and if they could use the unlock trunk button,it makes no sense to having the valet feature right?

i dont valet my car. i want to lock the trunk incase somebody breaks into the cabin, they wont have access to the trunk. meanwhile, i could still open the trunk remotely with the fob, hassle to use the key every time.
