Default Brake caliper removal

I've searched, but nothing came up. I want to remove the brake calipers (unbolt from the rotors) for cleaning and painting. I need confirmation that the fronts are just two 17mm bolts on the back of the caliper that is holding it? I tried earlier but it was right after a drive so car was hot and the bolts seemed like they were secured on tightly. I will try again this weekend. Any confirmation on this would be highly appreciated. Btw. I have a 350 f sport

103 views and no comments? Lol. No ones has removed the front calipers on a 350 fsport? Is it just two 17mm bolts thats holding the caliper or is there something else holding it in place? I searched and couldnt find answers. Thanks in advance

I think like most people came here to see brake calipers being removed, not to see a question about how to do it, a more descriptive subject line might help with that.

With that in mind, I haven't done a brake job on my 3is yet but having worked on dozens of other makes and models i have never seen more then two bolts holding the caliper to the mounting bracket. Lefty loosey righty tightly and you are good to go.

Unless you are fully removing it brake lines and all for paint im not sure there would be too much added benefit removing it from the bracket to paint.

I appreciate you wanting to dress them up but i was defiantly surprised when i saw just how boring our front calipers looked from a machining standpoint. I would almost rather them take a backstage them drawing more attention to them but thats just me.

I'm estatic u were suckered to come see my thread expecting a picture rather getting a question to read. Lol

I've been in the car scene and touched plenty of cars long enough to know turning a rachet left is to loosen a bolt and right is to tighten up a bolt. My question wasnt "how to turn a bolt loose"? My question is has anyone removed a fsport brake caliper on the 3is and is there anything else holding it intact besides the two 17mm bolts as I wasnt able to knock it loose. Simple question.

While you want to hide ur brake calipers, I myself want to enhance and brighten up my calipers. That's just me. Thanks for commenting though.

Jkhang17, I don't know the answer to your question, but have you tried the Toyota technical information system?

https://techinfo.toyota.com

I believe it has all the disassembly/reassembly procedures you're looking for. I believe it's the same root information system the service people use at dealerships for all other types of service and repairs too...

I think if you're project's important enough it'd be worth the $15 3-day access price.

Yes there are two bolts 17 mm. They are hard to get off, you will need a breaker bar to beak them lose.

yes two bolts for the fronts, they arent torqued down that hard, turn your wheel to get easier access to the bolts
