Idk, I had some rattles due to the window switch surround, and made them go away by literally pressing down on the window switch surround to firmly push it into place. Otherwise the car has felt very solid so far, even though I have some crappy Midwest roads to deal with. Granted mine is a '16 with just under 3k miles, whereas your '14 is likely to have many times that.
It's hard to know with build issues - seems to be based on luck and driving conditions. My girlfriend's Versa Note seems to have a decent number of rattles after its first two years, but even my old Camry (known for being well-built) developed a few over time, and I didn't keep it for more than 2.5 years.
my sound on my 2017 lexus is 350 f sport that i bought at victoria lexus canada is like a loose screw rolling back and forth,
didn't get that till i got a service at Lexus, wish i wouldn't have got it now, they said maybe my child put a marble in both places, i said I'm 62 and i don't have and have never had a child in my car. the noise is only noticeable when you take off or stop. its in the dash and centre council im thinking the one how worked on it put it there but how do you prove that, i can see if it started in just one spot.
got to get rid of this car its been nothing but a lemon sweat front diff seal. pinion seal leak 40 k on it never buy one of these again

Sorry to hear that you had bad luck with this dealership. I guarantee you a "lemon" is not something I hear about often with the IS! Hopefully, if you are persistent, the dealership will step up and do something - otherwise, might be time to find an independent shop.
OK so I don't like bumping old threads, but I've been having some creaks/ticks in the center console. I think it may be the shift lock release area for me as well. I can reproduce the noise while the car is stationary if I pull to the left and right on the center console. It's a tinny, high-pitched tick and is irritating for some reason. Does this sound like what we have described above? I will try and grab footage of it later on.
