Any info would be most appreciated. I really want to do this to my IS
Hey there, let me know which year is your IS and will help you to find mirrors with good price

thanks! I have a 2023 IS500... I just really want the power folding mirrors. Why did you have to take the ones you got apart? is it so the outer cover that is painted would match? Also did the new mirrors have the built in cameras on the bottom so the 360 degree parking assist view still works?

They're not the same color as my car and you can't just plug it into the harness that you have now, the folding feature won't work.

I understand it's not plug and play. I was just trying to get clarification as to why they had to be taken apart and if it was so they could get painted. I saw the post you made with the relays and wiring, I am just trying to make sure I understand this correctly. Any additional info or help would be appreciated.

Well if you can find a mint set the same color as your car, you wouldn't have to take apart anything actually. Just tap the 2 wires for the folding feature, add a quick release harness to them, connect to the relay setup and you're done.
My current mirrors have a 3M protector on the paint, so I'm going to reuse my current housing.

It's a lot more work, but I'll save some money in the end.

It will work on the IS as well.

You basically need to buy 3 relays and 1 aftermarket switch and wire them this way:

I am not sure i understand this wiring.. anyway you can explain or describe which wires go together and also where did you place the relays? In the door? under the dash? Also wondering if they are automatic, is an extra switch necessary? Sorry for needing clarification. I just want to understand better so when I do this, I know what I am doing

As for the placement, it usually goes under the driver side, but I haven't installed them yet, so I'll see where I place the relays once I get around to swapping the mirrors.

Got the mirrors from the site listed above.. paint matches so i dont have to swap out the outer covers... gotta figure out how to test them, and then try out the relay wiring. super excited to get this to work

Nice!!

What's the second harness for?

To test them, it's the blue and green wire, just put a 9V battery to it and they should fold in/out:

damn mate, you are lucky that you have found matching color mirrors the second harness is for 360 camera, don't worry about it. I talked one of the guy in the dealership and he told me that most probably mirrors itself will be different in terms of view, because their driver side mirror is meant for our passenger side and vice versa, if this is the case, will have to disassemble your factory one and swap the mirrors, I can confirm that green and blue wires are for folding/unfolding, tested it on my Japanese mirror as well which is for 2021+ years model.

If it's anything like a Honda, you'd have to swap the assembly that the mirror sits on as well in order to get the right angle back.
