Default Steering Control Module

I am having the dreaded PS warning light and stiff steering on my 2010 IS 250. Battery and alternator is all in good condition, I will be changing the power steering module located under the battery.

Question do I need to get the new computer (Junk Yard) one calibrated with a OBDI Computer after I install it or is it plug and play.

Thanks......

Should be plug and play…. Never hurts to have it recalibrated to your car at some point though.

The most common issue during this repair is battery polarity reversal, which knocks out the fuse.

By the battery is series of fuseable links under a clear cover. Look for the 80 Amp one near the 140A connection. Chances are, its blown. Look for an opening in the center of the Z.

Either of you notice if the stereo works?

I had to do the same on my 07 IS350. Had to also replace the rack and pinion because it seized up @ 150k miles.

The salvage PS ECU def needs to be recalibrated using Techstream. I mean you can take your chances and run it without going through the procedure, but your car will most likely steer and handle strangely if you do not.

Took the car to my local Lexus Dealer, all I needed was a new alternator and replace the 6 month old battery that already had a battery cel die. Lesson learned is that the
electric power steering in this cars are very sensitive to power supply, if there are any fluctuations in voltage the rack will shut down.

Sucks to hear that was the issue, but it's now resolved AND it could help someone down the road with diagnosing the very same issue.
