I still have not been able to install it yet. The plastic trim pieces for covering up the wiring has become a problem. The trim that was on my original mirror broke (15 years old will do that). And I am missing the trim that was supposed to be part of the RC350 mirror, didn't come with it from the eBay folks. So I have ordered some new trim pieces and when they get in I will do the install.

Thanks for all the help guys. I ended up getting a used mirror off ebay with a 5 pin connector and moving a couple of pins. Installed no problem. It's amazing how you get used to things such as the old streaked mirror. The 'new' mirror looks brand new. I wished I had looked into this earlier.

How well does the auto dimming function work? My 2013 never dims enough to be effective IMO.

TIA!
Finally have it installed and the auto dimming function works very well. Glad I did this mod!

Excellent thanks for the follow-up. Could you go so far as to say, 5x better than the 2IS?

Has anyone installed a frame less Gentex on a 2IS from a 2015+ RC350? It seems to be a drop in. Though I think the rail it sits on might be slightly longer. So it will sit lower in the cabin.

Also I haven't looked at the schematics yet. Does the 2IS has 5 wires or 6?

I put a 2021 ES with compass on my 2013 GS with Nav that didn't have the compass back in October of 23. See pics below. It was the test run with just cut and taped wires. All has bern soldered to look like an oem wire with heat shrink afterwards. So there is no bulge of the wire itself.

Edit well its been done. I'll have to comb through some more threads.

I am curious about the compass obsession.

I have not used one in a vehicle for a few decades as the nav map facing north sufficed.

What is the use case in which the nav/carplay don’t suffice and a compass is preferred?
