I've been using Mobil 1 full synthetic 0w 20 in my 06 is 350 since I bought it 30,000 miles ago. I purchased more online and what I received were different looking bottles labeled "advanced fuel economy". I went online and the only other bottles I could find were "extended performance".
My question is can I use the advanced fuel economy 0w 20 and be okay? Thanks in advance

Your car calls for 5W30, but if you dont have any problems or issues with 0W20 then keep using. Extended performance is much better than advanced fuel economy for the same grade and usually costs more. But you will be okay with the advanced, just change the oil sooner than what you do with the extended.
Your fine, 5k oil change intervals is max what I would push it since we are gdi engines and soot cant be filtered only drained out. Theres a youtube toyota mechanic who got a corolla and had a relative get a similar one too 2016. His changes were every 3k (too soon imo) and the relatives were 10k, after a few years they had 60k miles and he had 100k+, the one that burnt over a quart of oil and needed a rebuild was the 10k interval corolla while his didnt burn anything, so goes to show just change it on time.

When I bought the car I went on here initially and saw a post stating that 0W20 was the best choice for my 350. Sounds like I got bad info.
I bought 3 cases of the 0W20 advanced fuel economy from Costco for $84 last week but will be taking that back to exchange for 5W30.
Once that occurs what would you suggest is the best and safest way to switch over to 5W30?
And my apologies, I'm not trolling, am just a noob where engines and mechanical subjects are concerned. I appreciate your time and assistance.

Yeah I'm a fanatic about not going more then a few 100 miles over 5000 tops before oil changes. Plus that triangle on the cluster is damn annoying lol.
Thanks
I've always used Mobil 1 Extended Performance on all our cars and I change my oil around 3-4k miles although the label said up to 20k miles. Oil is cheap. Seeing you are in Arizona, 0W20 probably too thin for the 3.5 L V6. Try to switch back to 5W30 to see if the engine sounds or runs better especially when taking long and spirited drive.
Personally I would stick with the Lexus recommend 5W30 or 0W30. Our valve clearance may be wider and not as tight as newer models, thus thicker viscosity. As far as change intervals, an oil analysis of my last oil change at 5k showed I could have gone easily to 7k. As long as you are using a quality synthetic, longer change intervals should not be a problem, unless you're driving extremely short distances in cold weather

I live in Arizona so heat is a factor.
I bought the car with 165000 miles on it, have been running 0W20 in it and am at 198k currently. Obviously I've been using the incorrect weight and am hoping I have not caused any damage to the engine. My last change was at 195k so just wondering if I should switch over to 5W30 asap or can I wait to switch at my next scheduled oc at 200k?

Colder climates are actually worse on your engine, especially for short distance driving. I grew up in SoCal (LA), although temperatures are not as drastic, it does get hot in the summer. And the winter, lol. Now I live in Northern cal and make frequent trips back and forth. Temps in the central valley which you have to drive thru to get between NorCal and SoCal can easily get 115F to 120F in the summer. I can't even count the number of trips I've done back and forth in high temps over the years at high speeds. My 2013 Toyota Sienna now has 142k, my 2006 Camry SE has over 155k. My last oil change on my 2010 IS350 I sent to Blackstone for analysis after lots of hard driving, you can look up that post.
I doubt it caused any damage to your engine. Modern synthetic is pretty robust

You wont cause damage with the 0w20, heck the dealers even put that in after a tsb was released for the 2nd gen IS probably due to increase the mpg ratings. I wouldnt worry, check bitog if your really interested thats where I got my info. Unless your driving hard constantly theres no problem. Now if its 0w16 or 0w8 then we have a problem 🤣
