I've had the worst service from the Lexus service departments on both the east coast and the west coast and will not have my car serviced at the dealer. But I've almost always had good experiences with the parts departments.

If it's not in warranty, I won't take it unless it's something I absolutely don't want to touch (e.g. transmission fluid exchange using their stuff, and alignments), or for recalls/warranty enhancements

I second that. Unless it’s a recall I’m not bringing my vehicle to the dealership. If I could I’d ask them for the replacement part and do those myself too.

I've only recently discovered (I'm a slow learner I guess) that my teenage granddaughters would do a better job servicing my Lexus than the local dealer. So sad yet at least in my case, so true!!

All warranty work and recall work, yes the Dealer. Other than that I solicit the service of a Lexus Tech.

From the records, my IS 350 was serviced by Lexus of Texas (where it was first bought) and Lexus in Southern California (Orange County). After I bought it I had the oil changed and front and rear brakes changed by my mechanic who has been servicing all my cars since 2009. He only uses OEM parts and charges less than half of the dealership. I would only take my car(s) to the dealership if they provided free service, as Toyota did for 2 years for my Sienna or there was a recall
