Default Lexus is 250 headlights

Hi,

I currently own a lexus is 250 prestige (2006) and I want to upgrade my headlights to LED (high and low beam).

I know they take H11 and HB3 but was wondering if LEDS will be compatible?

Was looking at buying Nighteye HB3 and H11...

will this work??

Thanks so much!

If your going to go LED for the headlights. Look into these from the thread. The eBay ones won't give you decent light output. The OP was satisfied with the outcome on his install.

The DRL/high beams will not work. The DRL will flicker. I've tried. You can try anti-flicker with the DRL/high beams but there are not guarantees that they not flicker.

I'm running the DRL cree 9005 from ijdmtoy.com. With the decoder kit they run full brightness. I haven't had a flickering problem at all. They're still going strong after 3 years. Note with the led DRL's say good bye to the high beam function for night driving.

I'd highly suggest not to use LED bulb kits like those... I threw in some GTR Lighting Gen 2 bulbs for my car initially but the light output was so horrible that it was actually a relief to go back to halogens. Now the bulbs are just sitting in the box in my basement. There are GTR Lighting Gen 3 and others which claim to be way better than the previous gen but I'll have to see it to believe it. I gave up on the guess work and went with an LED projector retrofit which was more expensive and took longer but the results were way better.

LEDs can still be an option for you, and the installation is not much more complicated than swapping out the bulbs themselves, since you have to get into the housings anyway.

Our H11 LED Kits and 9005 LED Kits are good upgrades over the stock bulbs, giving you brighter, whiter (5500K) light, but the people above are right - you are going to need decoders, CANBUS fixes, PWM anti-flicker modules (everyone calls them different things) if you are upgrading your High Beams with anything but halogens. Also, the High Beams are going to be on pretty much all the time, because LEDs are not able to dim when they are in DRL mode, so they will be at full power in both.

You can see some images of our H11 LEDs in action here - H11 LED PRO Review (Koito projector - Lexus CT200h), and here's a 2018 4Runner H11 LED Review (a different type of vehicle, for sure, but there are some good comparison shots of halogen vs LED), like this one:
