Default Dear God please help, 2007 CD issue

2007 IS 250 --- Does Not Have NAV

Aux jack does not work. CD Player began making horrendous clicking grinding noises.
Dealer says one-piece unit, $1600.00 !!!!!!!
Aftermarket stereo locations do not offer any retro fit as they say CD, radio, and climate controls are one-piece!!!
Surely someone has a solution...

Does the mode switch on the steering wheel not switch to AUX, or does it switch to AUX yet you hear no sound?

Used CD changers go for anywhere from $100-250 on eBay.

CD player is one piece with the front console. Mode switches everything fine. Used to automatically go to AUX when cord plugged into console port. Now it does not and there is no sound when switching Mode to AUX.
Can the CD player's guts be change when I remove the whole unit from the dash? Climate control, Radio, and CD all are in the same component. Dealer wants to replace whole thing!!!!!

Thank You very much for your amazing help.
I did buy one on ebay and I did find a video on how to remove the center dash unit.

I cannot find the part for the AUX port inside the center console. Any assistance there would be greatly appreciated as well.

Thanks

I would first wait and see after you install the new CD changer to see if the AUX starts working again. No need to order something if it ends up working after all.

If you're curious though, the AUX port itself is easily replaced. The part # is 86190-53020. I believe Bell Lexus is selling some on eBay at the moment. But again, I'd wait and see how your CD changer replacement goes first.

That's not true. Just get yourself a set of dash trim tools for $10 of amazon/ebay. I did this a few weeks ago and didn't damage a thing. I definitely recommend the towel under the radio/dash on removal as it is heavy and you could drop it on the wood paneling by the shifter.

The aux port on the '07 is just a jack and a wire (no noise filtering circuitry). Nothing really to go wrong. Make sure there is continuity from one end to the other when you replace the CD head unit.

Thanks All
2007 IS 250
Still waiting for warranty Dash and Door Panel replacements from Lexus.
Dealer refunded $145.00 "Diagnostic Fee" when I said I went on Club Lexus and found out the CD could be replaced separately! He knows about this forum and apologized I was not given that option by the service writer!!!!!
I did buy one on ebay, was supposed to be new but the front panel was filthy with food/blood/biological effusement/?? however it cleaned up OK.
I will put it in next week, expecting this to cure the noise issue and hopeful that the AUX input will live again.

Find a used one on ebay, pretty easy to install. Look up on youtube how to install a radio for that car, and instead of having to wire everything on an aftermarket radio, your original used Lexus Radio will just be a plug & play.
