Question Need better sounding exhaust...

Hi all, just got a muffler delete done to my 08 is350 and it sounds okay. I expected it to sound better and louder but its whatever. I'm looking for some suggestions to make the sound a little deeper and less raspy. I found a video of the perfect sound I am looking for bust sadly the user that posted it forgot to mention the parts that he used.

Here is the link to the video:

Seems like he used some kind of aftermarket resonator to make it sound perfect. If anyone can direct me as to what aftermarket parts to add to get that sound, it would be much appreciated. Also if anyone has listened to a muffler-delete with a Megan mid-pipe, what did you think of it? Thanks.

Yeah, if you view the video on TouTube's page, it shows a comment : "Muffler delete w/ a aftermarket resonator." But unfortunately he never posted a reply on what res he used.

I would add two vibrant bottle type resonators either 12" or 16" and get them from amazon they go for like $50-75 a piece. I my self will be doing this to my Invidia midpipe since I don't have a stock exhaust to go back to.

Not a huge fan of muffler deletes but that does sound pretty good.

I wouldn't mind a bit more noise, but I have a really docile setup. Sounds almost stock driving around, but has a nice clean sound under throttle. Gotten a ton of compliments.

Stock everything, Invidia catless midpipe. Got it locally for $100 and threw it in. No CEL, no issues. No drone whatsoever.

Sthall, we would recommend our axle back #16764 if you were looking to get a deeper sound from your 350. If you have an otherwise stock exhaust, the sound will be a little more conservative than the one in the clip you posted to maintain a comfortable cabin for daily driving. You can check it out here on our site:

Let us know if you have any questions we can answer!

Hey Sthall, I recently changed my exhaust because I wanted a deeper and louder sound also. My IS350 already had the F-Sport axle back and the F-Sport intake, but it needed a bit more. So what I did is replaced the OEM resonator with one from Vibrant, and replaced the OEM secondary cats with flowmaster 223 high-flow cats. This way, the car meets emissions but has a much better sound. The 3 pieces cost me a little over $300 CDN, and about $150 for the exhaust shop to fit everything and make a few custom pipes.

If you want to hear what it sounds like, I'll make a short vid and post. If not, I hope you find the sound you're looking for.

OK, I had some time today so here are some videos. THe first one is a cold start-up and a few revs and the second is from inside the cabin partly on city streets and partly out on the highway. Here you go:

Start-up:

Driving with some commentary:

Hope you like it as much as I do.

If I was to upgrade my exhaust in any way the above sound would be exactly what I'd be trying to replicate. Very nicely done!!

straight pipe with cherry bomb resonator will give you the closest and deepest sound. Buddy is running that setup and it sounds pretty damn similar in my opinion.
