Default Clicking noise help?

So my car has been making this clicking noise and trying to determine if its a wheel bearing or the axle. The car is making the same noise as in this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qyUuApdiXlk I will be doing the repair myself but don't want ot buy a wheel bearing assembly then it be the axle. I didn't see any grease around the axle and when I jack up the car and check for play in the wheel there is no play. Please help

I know you wanna get to the exact problem and only try and fix it once but by doing the wheel bearing you will at least eliminate 1 potential problem and it could very well be that. Its hard for me to hear from the video. Im sure the wheel bearing isnt too expensive.

Axle around $135 and the bearing assembly around $160. At 4 - 9 second its pretty hard to miss the noise

Your issue sounds like the same as what I am experiencing. Does anything that I describe match up to you?

It would be interesting if it was the same thing. I have had wheel bearing / hubs go out in other vehicles and my ride still feels smooth, but it clicks .

Im going to pick up a rear cv axle and start there. From what Ive found online it should be the cv axle. Any tips or tricks on replacing the rear cv axle I should know?

Update - Got everything removed and the axle out. Wasn't as bad as I was anticipating. Went to reinstall and was sent the wrong axle. I ordered it from autozone so had to go to my local store and swap it. New one was much shorter than the stock one. I had to order another one and should have it tomorrow. Looks like the stock Axle nut was a 32mm and the autozone one is a 35mm

Just wen tot pick up the 2nd axle that had to be ordered. You guessed it. Wrong one. Has anyone installed the duralast gold rear axles? I'm assuming they need to be the same length? Any input please. The one I got today was even shorter than the first one

So was the boot on the CV joint intact on the axle you removed? Do you feel anything when you move the joint around?

Boots are perfect as far as I can see. Where the bearings/gears are in the metal housing on the outer part seems to be separating. Which is my guess dirt and debris have gotten in.

So I replaced the rear passenger axle because that was where the noise was coming from. It started out when I was turning right and then started to click when I was going straight so I said it was overdue. Axle has been replaced and all is well now. This was on a 06 IS250 RWD. Figured I would post the outcome as I was having trouble finding info on it
