Good day. I apologize if I missed this (I did perform a search of the forum before writing this and came up blank), but I am looking for information on how to remove the real axle from the differential on a 2006 IS250 AWD. I am replacing both sides (bearing hub assembly's and axles) today, but have been unable to find any details on the axle removal. Any help would be most appreciated.
The hardest part will be removing the axle nut. I don't remember how large it is; but more than likely you'll need to go out and purchase the right size. Remove the axle nut, remove any of the five suspension arms that you will need in order to get the axle out, and pop out the axle from carrier using a small pry bar. Oh, you might need to remove the end link from the LCA in order to give the suspension enough travel to relieve the axle stub from the hub.
I appreciate this...new territory for me, but you have to learn somehow. I am having trouble removing the bolts holding the suspension arms on. I figured giving PB Blast a try, but do you have any other tips?
And we decided to do a coilover conversion while we are tearing her down as well, so I already removed the LCA end link. Decided on the D2 Racing RS Full Coilover set. I am sure I will have questions during the install of these as well. We have decided to make an investment in this vehicle and keep it for a while. We both do real estate, so I guess we need to sell more houses. lol V-Vision has a full body makeover kit that we plan to buy at some point, but the mechanical comes first.
