Just replaced the ignition switch, now car wont turn on. Would i need to reprogram my key? How would i do it if the master key itself doesnt exist anymore since i replaced the switch. Can I program without the "master key?"
It cranks, but it wont completely turn on. I looked up some key programming videos and my car is doing just that. Acts has if im putting in a new unprogrammed key.
Do you think the auto-shop i left my car at did something to it?
I just called a locksmith. Said that whenever replace any parts such as takng out a battery, unplugging things, etc, keys must be out. Crucial because when its left in it can cause the chip in the key to reset or something like that. The autoshop that diagnosed my car mustve did something and possibly left the keys in.
$300 for some else's mistake. Exactly what I wanted to avoid in the first place.
Anyway, thanks for yalls help! I reprogrammed the ECU, got my car going. That's all I needed.
