IS 250 breaks messed up.
I have a 2006 Lexus IS 250 awd. I changed my back breaks today, and now my breaks are grinding on the rotor. I tried driving it 500 feet to see if it would help. Any suggestions?

Did you press the piston back into the caliper before you put on the new brake pads? Not sure how you could have done it without doing that step, but just making sure you did that. It's possible if you pressed them back in and didn't do it exactly straight the piston may have scratched the cylinder and it's now bound up in there not releasing the pressure back off the rotor.

This happened on my truck (rears) and I didn't notice it until I had driven about 30 miles. When I stopped there was some smokin' hot brakes/rotors. Ended up with new calipers/rotors/pads.

Yes I pressed the piston back as far as it would go. They were still really snug when I put everything back together. I Though it could be a seized caliper but I just changed the breaks. they both messed up at the same time. I figured only one would have went out. Thanks for all the help. If you can think of anything else just let me know.

I seized up the caliper on my 02 lancer (non evo) my brakes were metal to metal for quite awhile because i couldnt afford new brakes yet. Kept driving the car until 1 day i pulled up to my house and my pedal went to the floor without car stopping. I pressed the pedal again and my car then stopped, my friend who was washing his car in the driveway came down to the curb because he saw something falloff my car and it was my brake pad
When i tried changing that sides pads i couldnt push the piston back into The caliper.
