2007 IS250 OEM HID vibrating - pls help!
Hi guys,
I have a 2007 is250 OEM HID equipped car and noticed that right and left side vibrating sometimes and then unexpectedly the low beam (high beam not tested) turned off. Sometimes the right, sometimes time the left. Sometimes both (not at once), really strange. First I thought that bulbs are getting old, so replaced with D4S: MORIMOTO XB XENGREEN
The issue wasnt solved so dig deeper and found this article:
DIY: Replace Headlight Ballast WITHOUT Taking Apart Headlight
Followed the process and it turned out that new genuine ballasts from ebay works well, never turns off, but both still flickers, however I noticed just one side usually.
Does anyone know what cause the issue?

Does vibration means the light is flickering or actual vibrations of the headlight?
Flickering is related with voltage (usually too low) when use of an HID headlight - they need constant power (12V).
It's mostly related when people install HIDs on a car that has halogen bulbs (DRL - Day running light being low beam with less voltage = issue) but since your car came HID equipped, that shouldn't be your problem.

hey, thanks for the replys.
Eduskator: light flickering - sorry poor choice of words.
i used a voltmeter to check the voltage of the battery. when car off: 12.4V, when car on: 14.2V. did not check it for minutes yet.
Gville350: yes, OEM HID with AFS, goes up and down and right and to the left.

You can see the small glitches in the light, so it flickers. don't know why..

Ok, so it really took me a minute to see what flickering you were talking about.
Sounds like your ballasts might be going out due to the issue having carried over onto the new bulbs as well.

What year is your car? Mine does the same and my cluster reads "check headlight system" and it won't go away. Some said there's a lever box behind the rear wheel by the control arm that you just have to set to the center and it's fixed. I haven't gotten enough info so haven't done anything about it. The other I got new wheels and looked around but didn't see anything so I'm also still looking for pictures or directions to this puzzle. My car is a 2012 is250. Mine moves up and down slightly. Some people said it's caused by lowering the car and the level taking all those bumps. Can anyone help with this?

still looking for somebody to help! any clues could help..
i am not an expert but if you lower your car then your gear geometrics will change. i can imagine that some adjustment is needed for the AFS to work properly, since the car is lower to the ground, the angle it should change during the ride will be smaller. (slightly go up/down) its a flat angle.
