Have you checked the air in all your tires, including the spare? If not, do so and fill them up/lower to what your door jamb says. If it doesn't go away after making sure the pressure is correct and/or driving it for a minute, have someone scan the codes.
Sorry, but allstar319 has this one wrong on two counts. Low air pressure gives the message "LOW TIRE", not "CHECK SYSTEM". Also, the spare tire does NOT have a TPMS sensor.
Reasons for the "CHECK SYSTEM" light going on-and-off randomly:
1. You have two sets of wheels, one with TPMS sensors in the garage, and one without TPMS sensors on the car. (Light turns off when the car is parked close enough to the stored set of wheels with the sensors for the car to read them)
2. You have two sets of wheels, both with TPMS sensors, one set in the garage, and one set on the car. The sensors on the car are either not programmed to the car, or you have the wrong set of sensors selected. The light turns off when you are parked close to the stored set of wheels with the valid sensors.
3. The battery in one or more of your TPMS sensors is getting weak.

Just a quick assumption glancing over his post. If I'm wrong, oh well. No harm, no foul. It seems the TPMS system is a little more complex than on my other cars. I do recall some of them having TPMS sensors in the spare, guess that isn't the case with the IS. On the count of tire pressure though, it never hurts to get in the habit of checking it.
Although, as I did suggest above, having the codes scanned would pin down exactly what is wrong with the TPMS system. Bring it to any tire place.
