my car started behaving a bit sluggish on the lower rpms specially when starting from a stop. I recently cleaned and re oiled k&n panel filter. Could the filter oil have clogged up the maf sensor? should i clean the maf and clean the filter and use the filter with no oil and reset ecu?? Im gonna get the crc maf cleaner at pep boys. any suggestions? thanks

The CRC mass air flow sensor is certified for use on Lexus vehicles; I've researched it. So if you didn't let the oil soak overnight or for a prolonged period of time, you could have sucked up a bit of the oil. Check the inside of the intake tube for oily residue. If oily, remove the tube and clean with whatever is rubber-safe.

I already fixed it!!! But thanks! I believe i might have over oiled the filter because i let it soak over night. i removed the maf and ran my fingers inside the intake tube but it didn't feel oily. I cleaned all the oil off the filter and cleaned the maf using the crc maf spray. Still waiting for filter to dry and im not gonna use any oil this time forget it. I already tested the car filter-less(relax no highway only in my neighbourhood) after maf clean / ecu reset and WOW its night and day, yesterday the engine felt so weak under 3k rpm now its better than when i bought the car last month(it came with the k&n drop in installed) so yeah people avoid air filter oil and clean your maf sensor when you clean/replace your filter if you feel you are lacking low-mid rpm power/torque.

Glad it's back to normal! I purchased the same K&N drop-in back in 2011 along with the filter recharger kit. Never did use it long enough to get dirty. Still sitting around collecting dust. LOL!

I wonder how much of this is simply resetting the ECU, either way, good to hear. I feel like I am having the same kind of issue with my 350. It used to give the me the ol' gut punch feeling when I lightly tapped the gas (like it was about to rocket me forward from any stop), now it feels a little more sluggish

My car felt really sluggish and sounded really weird i was positive it was running super rich and i was also sure that i had over oiled the filter a bit . If you haven't run a air filter with oil just reset the ecu.

maybe your ECT is off - I had a friend who left it on all the time and I guess he got used to it- so one day while he was pumping gas I turned it back to normal. He was like hmmm did I incidentally put the cheap gas instead of 91 haha
