Car warmed up? How's the reverse working? Any other problematic gears?
First time the car was warmed up from 2 hour drive stoped at supermarket for some 1 or 2 things came out and drive took a while to engage. Also does it on cold start when i tried it later that same day (yesterday).
reverse is working and engaging fine only problem is shifting into drive and from 1st to 2nd rest is fine.
Please help i need my car to get to work but dont wana damage the transmission.
No trip to stealer my car is 07 no waranty gotta find tranny rapair man with a tranny scanner.
I understand your reluctance to pay stealership prices but on a modern electronically governed transmission like the IS250 6 speed, you don't want a "Johnny come AAmco" screwing it up.
How many miles on the car?
Auto I assume? Have you had the fluid changed//checked?
yes auto, 110k miles, no havent had fluid cheked nor changed thought that tranny fluid is maint free also has run super smooth always until just 4 days ago havent run it ever since i got home

TRUTH from experience - Take it to Lexus at least for diagnosis.
sorry, didn't see your last post - keep us informed
dealer did not find anything wrong and could not get a code. Got told about a local lexus mechanic with experience so i called him up he thinks it might be a dirty trans oil filter or maybe some seals. hes gonna test the car today and il drop it of next tuesday for repair prob.

Scary that the dealer couldn't figure it out. How is the independent guy diagnosing the problem? Or is he just going to throw some parts at it? Try to get a sense if he's SURE that's what the problem is.
Probably checked the fluid. I know people think the fluid is not serviceable but it is. The OP has 110K miles of which some//many are spirited driving. Probably dirty fluid.
All of my Toyota's have the same WS transmission fluid and I start changing at 85K miles.
