Default 2014 IS250 Remote Start

I currently have a 2014 IS250 with navi. Obviously these models do not come with remote start. I am being told by my local Lexus service department that they can install a OEM remote start for my car. The service manager said it is a genuine Lexus part and uses the original key remote and they only need my car for about 3 hours to do the installation/programming. I believe their cost was about $450.

Does this seem accurate? As far as my research has gone, I didn't think Lexus had a remote start option for the 2014 IS250.3

This forum is for the older IS. Anyway, I heard someone said that it does work with Nav, while some people said it doesn't. Since it's the dealer, I assume there is some guarantee that it will work or they won't charge you -- you should check with them. $450 doesn't seem like a bad price considering how much you have to pay for after market remote start (but aftermarket remote start have a longer range). You know it's genuine if you don't need to carry an aftermarket remote around.

I paid $1,200 total to install a Clifford remote start in my then-brand-new 2010 IS 250. It was a very difficult install and my shop spent quite a bit of time on the phone with Clifford trying to make it so I could get right in and drive away without having to "restart" the car after entering it.

I think the OEM system starts the car....but as soon as you push the brake pedal in the engine shuts off and you have to "restart" the vehicle.

To me, this is annoying as EFF....so we got it so I just have to push the seat memory button to "bypass" that.

Okay thank you guys. That kind of gives me some final questions to ask them before I fork over my money.
