WITH 131+ MILES.. 2 WEEKS LATER CHECK ENGINE LIGHT/VSC STARTS FLASHING, GET THE CAR DIAGNOSED .. ITS RUNNING LEAN ON CYLINDER 3 .. OK ITS STILL UNDER WARRANTY.. GET IT FIXED ..ONE WEEK LATER SAME THING HAPPENS... VACUUM LINE LOOSE.. GET IT FIXED , THAT SAME SAME NIGHT HI
T A DEER 5K WORTH OF DAMAGE.. 2 WEEKS @ PAINT SHOP , GET IT BACK ONE WEEK LATER GUESS WHO? CHECK ENGINE LIGHT.. BACK TO SHOP .. THIS TIME I FIND OUT THE CAR HAS A ONGOING ISSUE.. DEALER FAILED TO INFORM ME OF.. SPOKE WITH GUY FRM LEXUS DEALERSHIP.. UMM UMMM ENGINE MAY NEED TO BE REPLACED...

 

131,000 MILES AND STILL UNDER WARRANTY??? (Sorry, didn't mean to SHOUT!)

 

i was just about to ask the exact same thing

 

i don't know but when i used to work at a dealer they offer something called "lifetime warranty". They don't really tell customer they offered it. it was something you had to ask and know the right people. It was not transferable to another owner tho and cost a lot of $$

 

Do you have an IS250? It might just be the extended warranty for carbon buildup.

 

Sometimes dealers will offer a 6month/5000 mile warranty (or something simliar) on used cars. Sounds like the OP has only had his ride for <3months. Maybe this is why its covered??

It came with a 3month or3k warranty from the used car lot I purchased it from... yea a lot of problems in a short period of time.. im just venting thats all.... waiting for the other shoe to drop now, the people from Johnson Lexus are conversing with the dealership I purchased the car from, found out the car has had an history of trouble from the previous owner... got my fingers crossed hopefully things will work out for me...

 

Did your car have good maintenance records from the previous owner? I thought the Lexus IS can last pretty long time (200k miles easily).

Wow looks like someone hit something hard there and bent both wheels on the right side. The customer declined to have it fixed, but looks like they kept bringing it back complaining of the tires being out of balance after that, and had them balanced every 2 months.

Looking over the history, I wouldn't say there were no more problems than on any other 350 engine wise according to the service history. I see a coil being replaced at one point, but the only "ongoing" issue is the tire balancing, which was a result of having 2 bent wheels (noted in record on 2/6/11). I really hope that customer got charged every time those wheels were balanced after they were notified that they were both bent. What a waste of everyone's time regarding that, and I'm sure the customer was upset tat the wheels weren't covered under warranty or something. They probably hit a pothole there around DC or Northern VA with it and damaged the wheels. I used to live around there and know those roads can be brutal and filled with deep potholes in late winter/early spring...

 

oh ok.. soooo... other than that no mechanical issues have been reported with the car
