Wheel toe problem. Need help.
Symptoms:
When backing out, turn wheel right, tires seem to scrape - particularly when almost at max steering wheel rotation.
Seems to happen only when turning right. Left turns not noticeable.
Had alignment done 2 months ago, tech said it was bad toe angle, states he fixed it. Still happens.
Worsens with colder weather (lower tire pressure?).
**If I turn my steering completely to the right, and test it, it will feel like one wheel is scraping badly. I have no pulling issues, and car drives normal, steering wheel is also perfectly straight. Car has been in accident before, it was rear ended and fixed (if that helps).
What should I do? Just want to get an idea of whether I should go to an alignment shop, or what?

The tires sizes are correct for the vehicle. Previous set of tires also did the same thing. I have driven 2 other IS250s (07, and 09) which has the exact same setup as my car (stock everything), and do not exhibit this problem. It's starting to drive me a little up the wall. I really need this fixed.
I know that 2gen IS' come with a degree of toe angle from the factory, assuming to help with handling? But it should not be to a level that causes problems like this. I just don't want to spend money to get another alignment and still have the same issue.

Toe angle would not cause the problem you're describing. The more likely cause would be the caster angle, and if its off enough to causing rubbing than you probably have a bent suspension part. The caster is also not adjustable... Do you have a print out of the alignment that was done?

I would recommend figuring out where it's rubbing first. It's very possible that you fender liner is not properly seated and needs a clip or re-tucked into position. Cheap, easy & free check before you drop any dough.

Thanks guys for the tips. I suspect there's a damage suspension part, but everything looks ok. I'm no expert, so if I can't visually determine, I'll have to find a shop.
