Hello, im new here. I have a is 250 2008 and the tire light is on i took it to pepboys for oil change and told the to check the tires they put air but the light still on, it is true that even the spare tire in the trunk also have to have the right psi?
Is your spare tire a donut? If it is then see if its that but i dont think the spare has a TPMS sensor.
Have pep boys or your local tire shop go arround to each tire and see which tire exactly it is with their tpms "cheacker" . Usually like in my case the TPMS sensor is old so its broken in my back left tire. So if the tire PSI is where its sopose to be and the light is still on then you have a bad TPMS sensor.

My GX does have a sensor in the spare. The sensors have a battery and yours are 5 years old so that could be why.
Check the air pressure yourself to be certain. The tire light might not go off immediately because the system needs to cycle through to clear. This process usually happens sometimes within 50 miles of driving.
If the light does not clear after a while and your sure you have the correct tire pressure, then you can assume one of your TPMS is malfunctioning.
The spare in the truck should have nothing to do with your tire light on. There is no senor in the spare. check to see if the pressures are set to spec. The sticker on the side of your driver door should tell you how much you need. The light doesn't go off right away when you fill it up. You need to drive it for a little bit.
Well, if the light is flashing then there is a sensor issue. If the light is just on, then they need to add air to the correct PSI then perform the reset initiation via the buttons on the left side of the dash by the turn signal area.
