Default Need Engine Help

So a friend of mine got in an accident on his 2012 IS350 and this part broke off. It's the oil filter housing, I don't know what exactly it might be called. But for all you mechanics out there, Can he just buy it separatly or how is he supposed to fix this issue.

It broke off from this here.

All help will be greatly appreciated, he does need to fix his car ASAP.

It's part of the upper oil pan. The subframe has to come off to remove the oil pan.

What part number would it be, because I see its connected to 12101, isn't that what needs to be bought.

12101 is the upper oil pan which is what is needed. I posted the picture as reference only. When you go purchase the part from the dealer(if you plan on doing this) I suggest having your VIN handy. Also there are 2 o-rings that would need to be replaced that go between the oil pan and oil pump/timing cover. I also recommend using Toyota FIPG for oil pan sealant. It's pricey but it's worth it.

Yes it is the upper or main oil pan. The part number is 12101-31101. It fits all 2WD IS250 and IS350 from 2006-2013. Changing it can be a little challenging DIY because the engine needs to be hanged while the frame is dropped.

12101-31101 Pan Sub-Assy Oil 2GRFSE, 4FRFSE..GSE20,GSE21 08/05 to 04/13

The same part number also carries over to the 2014 IS

Thanks for the clarification. I just was not sure as Lexus seems to like to supersede part numbers between different MY vehicles.

There's a good deal on the oil pan on ebay.
