Default steering feels tighter?

im not sure if its just me but my 08 is 250 steering feels tighter for some reason. the wheel seems to be a bit tougher to turn. anyone else experience this? and there is no noises when turning just a bit stiffness.i just had my oil changed and i suspect that they top off the fluids so i dont think its a low level fluid issue.

Uhm errrrr, you have an electronic steering rack. LOL! Check that blinker fluid level while you're at it.

He's saying that the IS uses EPS (Electronic Power Steering), therefore it does not use fluids as compared to hydraulic.

As was said there is no fluids, it's a completely electronic system. The chances of anything happening to your steering when you were getting fluids changed is about zero.

That being said, there is a campaign to replace the steering rack on older models. If yours hasn't had it done, the steering effort can increase (to the point it is actually not very driveable). I would check to make sure your car has had this done.

What do you mean by "older models"? Which years are we talking about here?

Ive had mine replaced. i have an 06 and they had to replace the bushings and some steering linkage.....you may experience tight steering or like i did.................locked steering. Might be a good idea to get that checked.

I thought it was 06-08, but looking now, it appears to be 06-07. I guess the original poster's 08 would actually not apply.

thats what i was thinking, im quite sure when i was turning my wheel a few months ago when i was cutting some fender liner, that it was so easy to do with one hand and now it just seems tighter for some reason. ill have the dealer look at it along with the front brakes that are still squeaking and they said there was nothing wrong with them. this time im gonna be more persistant that they remove all 4 wheels and inspect the brakes thouroghly.
